What are mini Nubians?
Mini Nubians are a cross between Nigerian dwarf goats and standard-sized Nubians. Through intentional breedings, the goal is achieved of an ideal dairy animal that has the breed character of a Nubian, but in a smaller package. All of our mini Nubians are registered with the Mini Dairy Goat Association.
Why mini Nubians?
These mid-sized goats offer the best of both worlds! They are easy to handle, but give incredible amounts of sweet, high butterfat milk. Ideal for homesteads, family farms, and show animals, mini Nubians have won our hearts and we think that they will have yours as well!
What about generations?
When looking at mini Nubian goats, you will see generations listed as F1-F6 and beyond. The generation is always one higher than the lowest generation parent. The initial cross between a full-blooded Nubian and a Nigerian dwarf produces F1 kids (the parents are considered F0). F1 and F2 kids can be registered as experimental. F3 through F5 kids are registered as American if they meet breed standards. F6 kids can be registered as purebred if they meet breed standards.
